UgCS Educational Program of SPH Engineering Turns 7

SPH Engineering celebrates the 7th birthday of its #UgCS #Educational program. Launched in 2015, it has spread from the 1st partner, the University of Alaska Fairbanks (USA), to 300+ universities in 40+ countries globally.

The goal is to support innovative studies with the use of UAV.

For a few years in a row experts from Stanford University, Point Blue Conservation Science, and Conservation Metrics rely on UgCS to plan missions to automatically identify and count adult penguins and their chicks.

Geophysics faculty and graduate students from the University of Nevada, Reno, explore blind geothermal systems with UAV magnetometry.

Scientists of the University of Lisbon funded by the Portuguese Polar Program applied for UgCS to address the issue of climate change and analyze the vegetation cover distribution and the permafrost-active layer thermal regime in the Antarctic Peninsula.
